**About the role**:
The Logistics Manager is a full-time permanent position, based from our Scoresby site.
Reporting to the GM of Logistics this role is responsible for managing the Distribution Centre and associated warehouse and freight operations to deliver outstanding customer service; lead the implementation of operational excellence; develop people and create a high performing team; improve safety; measure performance and deliver financial outcomes.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Manage the DC operations to deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Promote safety values and implement safety, health and environment policies and systems to embed safety into the culture and ways of working.
- Liaise with sales, customer service, manufacturing and planning to forecast daily/weekly/monthly volume to plan workforce requirements to deliver customer promise at the right cost.
- Champion best practice initiatives and drive a continuous improvement culture through collaboration with team and stakeholders to develop ideas and implement effective solutions.
- Lead operational excellence in safety, people, operational performance and customer service.
- Plan and organise the right number and type of Logistics resources to deliver operational excellence.
- Maintain appropriate inventory controls to ensure accurate stock holdings and pick accuracy.
- Manage industrial agreements to achieve appropriate commercial and performance outcomes and flexibility for future Supply Chain changes.
- Develop annual budgets and monitor actuals against budget to take action where necessary to achieve budget or agree variance based on volume increases.
- Identify, implement, and monitor appropriate KPIs and ensure robust measurement and reporting in place to communicate performance and progress.
- Drive awareness of, and compliance to, all legislation that impacts warehouse and transport environments including Workers Compensation, OH&S and COR.
- Support the Supply Chain transformation program and deliver operational changes.
- Manage industrial relations, operational disputes, etc. to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Build and maintain an exceptional team culture by creating a high-performance team who are accountable for all their actions as well as embrace standardisation and continuous improvement.
**About You**:
- 7+ years in warehouse and transport operations with solid inventory management experience
- Strong understanding and ability to work within a unionised work environment and manage complex ER/IR matters.
- Experience in communicating & delivering changes within a Logistics environment.
- Demonstratable delivery of successful tactical Logistics improvements.
- Active, hands-on approach with results focus and good attention to detail.
- Inspiring and motivating leadership capability capable of coaching and developing others.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
- Exceptional planning and prioritisation skills.
- Open and transparent communicator.
- Champions safety, health, compliance and sustainability.
