Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dynamic Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) Level 1 to join their Specialist Palliative Care Service at Long Jetty Health Care campus. This is a temporary, full-time position for a 6 month period offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families navigating end-of-life care. As the NUM, you will lead a small, multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient, community-based, and residential aged care facilities (RACFs).

As the Nursing Unit Manager for the Palliative Care Service, you will coordinate all aspects of patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will oversee the delivery of care to patients with complex palliative needs, managing services across various locations including our hospital consultation service, home visits, and outreach to RACFs. You will be responsible for managing nursing staff, directing their clinical practice, and ensuring the smooth operation of the service by maintaining effective patient flow, safety, and quality of care.

In addition to clinical care coordination, you will manage operational aspects of the service, including monitoring resources, equipment, and expenditures. A key part of your role will be fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment, encouraging open communication and problem-solving to enhance team dynamics. You will also actively promote continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient safety to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients and their families. Your leadership will contribute to shaping the culture of the Palliative Care Service and ensuring the service operates efficiently, while also supporting the professional development of your team members.

**About You**
- You have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), with extensive recent clinical experience in Palliative Care.
- You have relevant experience in clinical leadership and management, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- You have a current Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel within the Central Coast Local Health District as required.
- You have have a strong focus on patient-centred care, clinical governance, and continuous quality improvement.

**Where** **you**’**ll be working**

You will be working as part of a dedicated, supportive, and collaborative team based at Long Jetty Health Care campus, providing specialist palliative care services across the Central Coast region. Your work will span multiple settings, including the hospital, community-based care, and residential aged care facilities, ensuring that patients and families receive holistic, end-of-life care in the most appropriate and least restrictive environment. With a work schedule of 0830 to 1700, Monday to Friday, you will have the flexibility to work across these diverse locations while being strongly supported by the Nurse Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team.
