**About the Business Unit**:
Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Service Delivery Reform, Coordination and Workplace Safety Group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of the justice system. VSSR leads the development, design and implementation of innovative service responses to victims of crime in the criminal justice system.
**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Intermediary Program, the Lead Intermediary will head a small team of specialist practitioners to provide high-quality services to eligible witnesses. You will contribute to broader practice development, quality initiatives and continuous improvement. You will also provide intermediary services to a small number of eligible witnesses. Eligible witnesses currently include those who are a victim of a sexual offence or a witness in a homicide, and are under the age of 18 or an adult with a cognitive impairment.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Work with the Program Manager to provide effective leadership, to facilitate ongoing high quality service delivery
- Contribute to planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services delivered by a team of DJCS and contracted Intermediaries
- Manage a team of DJCS and contracted intermediaries, including undertaking staff performance and development planning (PDP) processes and contributing to building workforce capability.

**About You**:
- Significant experience in managing, supervising, and developing a team of practitioners, and a commitment to working collaboratively and promoting a positive team culture
- Extensive professional experience working with (at least one of):
- Children and/or adults who have experienced trauma
- Children and/or adults with complex mental health needs
- Children and/or adults with a cognitive disability
- Children and/or adults who have complex communication needs
- A strong understanding of the key issues experienced by victims of crime and demonstrated ability to translate this understanding into best-practice models of service provision.
**Qualifications**:
Must be eligible for appointment to the Victorian Panel of Intermediaries. As such, only professionals with the appropriate qualifications and registration will be considered:
- Psychologists and Occupational Therapists who hold full unrestricted registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Social Workers who are a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Speech Pathologists who are a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia.
