The Commercial Operations Manager based out of Australia or New Zealand is a key member of the GE Digital Grid Software Asia Pacific Commercial Operations team. The role has a high exposure to senior management and is critical to achieving success and growth in the region.
The main responsibilities of the Commercial Operations team are to work closely with the Pre-Sales team on pre-qualification of Software opportunities, focused around the Australian and New Zealand utility market, leading and motivating cross-functional deal teams to give their best work to deliver best in class winning proposals on time every time and to the highest possible quality, drafting and negotiating customer contracts with respect to both commercial pricing & legal terms, owning deal financials and governance approvals.

**Essential Responsibilities**:
**In this role, you will**:
- Lead all commercial activities for assigned deals through pre-qualification, RFI, RFP, customer clarifications and commercial negotiations.
- Prepare and maintain bid plans, lead bid team kick-off meetings, coordinate deal assignments and hold regular deal pulse calls from start to closure.
- Possess excellent time management abilities to maintain deal team momentum and motivation using your experience and initiative to overcome issues and remove roadblocks for the team to ensure 100% on time proposal delivery.
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals aligning customer outcomes and GE’s profitability and risk profiles.
- Preparation of commercial critical risk reviews and strategy, providing sound Commercial Management advice to Senior Management.
- Ensure risks and opportunities are fully understood and communicated, identifying the best ways of mitigating the key risks and maximising the key opportunities.
- Own the deal commercials, analysing terms & conditions against company risk parameters and partnering with Sales to drive the pricing strategy.
- Own the deal governance risk review and approval process for assigned deals.
- Lead the commercial negotiation with customers on pricing and terms & conditions.
- Good understanding and knowledge of Australia and/or New Zealand government procurement process will be advantage.
**Basic Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in the fields of finance, accounting, business/ commerce, law or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial management, Big 4 auditing experience or finance analyst experience.

- Must be willing to travel up to 10%
- Must be willing to work remotely
- Must be fluent in English
**Desired Characteristics**:
- Proven financial acumen with ability to prepare, analyse and present deal financial information including updating excel models on the fly under pressure as last minute changes come in.
- Strong project/bid management skills.
- Executive presence with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and draft commercial and legal terms within a customer agreement.
