THE ROLE

This is a unique opportunity to join the Pricing Operations team based in Sydney. Working closely with the Pricing Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering bespoke pricing for Origin’s Large Customer segment which accounts for approximately half of Origin’s total retail load for gas and electricity as well as pricing for sophisticated Small Customers with large, aggregated loads.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Developing and maintaining complex pricing methodologies to balance Origin’s strategic objectives with competition in the retail market.
- Supports the Electricity and Gas Portfolio teams. This includes providing analysis of portfolio risk associated with specific customers, segments and/or products to support decisions regarding physical and financial trading.
- Responsible for the evaluation of risk associated. This includes contributing to the design and delivery of new products to meet changing customer expectations and market competition.
- Responsible for the approval of pricing in accordance with Commodity Risk Management System.
- Responsible for allocating team resources to meet or exceed service levels agreed with other business groups, in particular Wholesale Portfolio, Demand Forecasting and Business Energy.
- Effectively communicate with a range of internal counterparties to achieve competitive and timely responses to tenders.
- Managing a team of Pricing Analysts who are responsible for bespoke customer pricing. Development planning that meets individual and team objectives is a core responsibility of the position.
- Includes responsibility for training, assessing competence and managing capabilities across the team to ensure key person risk is mitigated and operations are sustainable.

IS THIS YOU?

Your resume will need to demonstrate a history of exceptional analytical skills with examples of time spent manipulating large data sets.

To be selected for interview you will also need
- Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline - Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or similar
- Understanding of the regulatory environment as it relates to Large Customers
- Experience of economic pricing concepts and modelling
- Thorough knowledge of Australian energy market and Large Customer products (electricity, gas, environmental)
- Highly effective at developing strong internal and external relationships
- Well-rounded and tested business planning and commercial acumen
