**THE ROLE**

An exciting opportunity to join our Finance Risk team based at our Sydney office is now available. As the Quantitative Risk Analyst, you will aid in the development of risk & analytics models covering various energy markets, including oil, gas & electricity portfolios. As well as conduct analysis of risks and opportunities in these portfolios. This function will drive best-practice risk methodology, analysis, and documentation at Origin.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

- Development of quantitative risk & trading models to support decision making
- Analysis of portfolio position and attribution of changes in risk exposures
- Managing data requirements for risk modelling to ensure timely and accurate data
- Running daily processes in a timely & accurate manner

**IS THIS YOU?**

You will be a self starter with a proactive, analytical approach to understanding Origin’s energy trading business and assisting in the development of financial risk models. You will hold qualifications in a relevant numerate discipline such as quantitative finance, finance, or engineering (or similar). In addition, you’ll possess:

- Experience in a risk management/middle office analytical function
- Prior experience working in the energy industry, with an interest in energy markets
- Understanding of portfolio risk measures [VaR, CFaR, option pricing etc.]
- Advanced Python, Excel & VBA skills
- Strong verbal and written reporting skills
- Ablity to create and maintain positive stakeholders engagement, across different levels in the organisation.
