**The Role**

**Retirement Living Accounting**
- Maintain financial records for multiple Retirement Living villages and units.
- Process monthly resident billing for service fees, maintenance levies, and other charges in accordance with resident contracts.
- Reconcile resident accounts and manage refundable accommodation deposits (RADs), entry contributions, and exit entitlements.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for Retirement Living operations, including village-level profit & loss and budget-to-actual comparisons.
- Liaise with village managers and operations teams to ensure alignment between financial records and operational data.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for each village.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., Retirement Villages Act) and industry codes of practice.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and adjustments specific to village operations

**Bank Reconciliation**
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and the general ledger.
- Ensure timely posting of all bank transactions including receipts, payments, fees, and interest.
- Liaise with internal departments and external banks to resolve outstanding items or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and audit requirements.

**Asset Register Management**
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register in accordance with accounting standards and company policy.
- Record acquisitions, disposals, and transfers of fixed assets accurately.
- Process depreciation on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Reconcile the asset register with the general ledger regularly.
- Assist with annual asset stocktakes and physical verifications.
- Prepare reports on asset valuations, useful lives, and impairments as needed.

**Sundry Debtor Management**
- Maintain accurate records of sundry debtor accounts (e.g., staff reimbursements, lease/rent receivables, insurance recoveries, etc.).
- Raise sundry debtor invoices and issue statements as required.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collection.
- Respond to debtor inquiries and resolve account issues.
- Reconcile sundry debtor accounts regularly and ensure accuracy of balances.
- Assist with provision for doubtful debts where applicable

**Additional Duties**:

- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Provide data and support for internal and external audits.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes as required.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Working towards CPA
