The role of the Land Acquisition Specialist is to provide expert advice and guidance on Government land transactions and associated compensation for the Department of Transport. The Department of Transport Property Division provides land acquisition and associated services to infrastructure projects delivered by the Department and Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA)

Projects across Suburban Rail Loop, Melbourne Airport Rail and the Level Crossing Removal Projects (Brunswick 8).
**About the role**
The Land Acquisition Specialist provides land acquisition and associated services to major infrastructure projects delivered by the Department and Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA). The Land Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in delivery of land acquisition outcomes, providing authoritative advice on property issues that impinge on project planning and delivery.
The role of the Land Acquisition Specialist is to provide expert advice and guidance on Government land transactions and associated compensation. Including compulsory acquisitions, negotiation of leases/licences, purchases, temporary occupations, underground strata divestments and Planning and Environment Act claims. The Land Acquisition Specialist works in consultation with multiple groups of stakeholders which currently include the Department's Groups, Westgate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, North East Link Project, Major Roads Project Victoria and Suburban Rail Loop Authority.

- Actively identifying and actioning opportunities for improvements in divisional processes, policies, standards and operations.
- Upskilling of other personnel with respect to Government Land transaction processes through mentoring, training and guidance.
