Expressions of interest are invited from ongoing and temporary employees within the NSW Public Sector who wish to be considered for this temporary role for a period up to August 2025 (with the possibility of further extension).
**About the Role**
As our new **Assistant Analyst, Policy**, you will join the Policy and Coordination team within the Emergency Management branch in the Delivery and Engagement Group.
In this role, you will undertake detailed research and policy analysis to support the NSW Government’s strategic priorities in emergency management. You'll contribute to the development of policy settings, assess proposals and Cabinet submissions, and help provide high-quality advice on the feasibility of key initiatives. Your work will support the effective coordination of emergency management efforts and service delivery reforms across government.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, public sector agencies, and key stakeholders to inform decision-making and ensure timely, well-founded advice is delivered to senior executives. You’ll also provide administrative and project support to enable the smooth operation of the branch’s strategic initiatives.

- ** Policy Development & Analysis**: Demonstrated expertise in researching, evaluating and interpreting complex information to support sound policy settings, Cabinet submissions and strategic government initiatives
- ** Written Communication**:Proven ability to prepare clear, accurate and compelling briefs, reports and ministerial correspondence that align with presentation standards and support informed decision-making
- ** Project Support & Organisation**: Expertise in managing priorities, meeting deadlines and contributing to the delivery of high-impact policy and reform initiatives in a fast-paced, changing environment
- ** Stakeholder Engagement**: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across government and with external partners to support collaborative consultation and drive policy outcomes
- ** Teamwork & Collaboration**: Holds a strong track record of contributing to high-performing teams, fostering open communication, information-sharing and a positive, solutions-oriented team culture

**Salary**:Clerk Grade 5/6. Package includes base salary ($97,027 - $107,059) plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
