**Your day as an Assistant Analyst**
The **Capital Strategy, Projects and Reporting Team** plays a crucial role in advising on government policy and budget proposals related to infrastructure and land use planning. They are responsible for preparing key documents such as the NSW Budget Infrastructure Statement and the Community Services Update Report, managing Special Deposits Accounts, and monitoring the financial performance of Infrastructure NSW. The team also partners with various agencies on capital reporting, asset management planning, and capital investment plans, while issuing public sector guidance on capital budgeting requirements and collaborating on precinct development proposals and projects.
As an **Assistant Analyst**, you will contribute significantly by providing high-quality advice, project management, research, and analysis to support policy development, budget processes, and government decision-making. You will work closely with the team to communicate the budget process across Treasury teams and the broader public sector, and assist with process improvement initiatives, ensuring effective and efficient operations within the department.
Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.
You will be joining our **Policy and Budget Group** and will be working within the **Transport Infrastructure & Investment Division and Capital Strategy Projects & Reporting Team**. Read more about your future Group and Division.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, accounting finance, public policy, information systems or a related field.
- Post-graduate, professional work experience in policy, research, accounting, finance or other analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to consider differing perspectives across diverse policy issues to support policy advice, under supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake research and draft briefing materials for Treasury Executive and Ministerial Offices, under supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a small team.
