**ROLE OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To work with team members of the program to successfully introduce change and improvement into the business that ensures long-term sustainability
- To lead initiatives in the program designed both internally and externally to the program, through engagement of staff.
- Lead operations to identify areas for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness to reduce the cost base across the maintenance operations.
- Provide motivational and strong leadership to leaders and staff within the program, reinforcing and managing high standards with regard to safety, customer service, performance, environmental awareness and adherence to company values.
- Coaching to staff, advisors and other stakeholders to create a high performing culture.
- Establish clear and challenging Annual Performance Objectives for workplace leaders ensuring alignment with the financial year business plan and oversee this activity for all team members including the active management of staff performance reviews.
- Support desired succession planning outcomes to ensure plans are in place for critical roles and highly talented employees are developed.
- Manage to ensure workplace leaders have a collaborative approach with support services such as Logistics, QA, Business Improvement, IT, Finance and HR to strengthen organisational effectiveness and achieve operational objectives.
- Ensure the appropriate management of maintenance of regulatory approvals and legislative requirements.
- Ensure Maintenance performed meets airworthiness and/or other applicable statutory requirements.
- Provide a range of information as required for use in monthly reports, and timely and meaningful production management and performance reporting and analysis as required.
- Determine and manage operational staff requirements for the program with workplace leaders that promote production effectiveness and workforce sustainability.
- Support the development of good business and customer solutions through understanding the customer's business and factors impacting on it, and the necessary operational activities for implementation.
- Support the maintenance and development of open communication lines with the customer for the sharing of appropriate information.
- Responsible for managing operations to ensure all maintenance, supervision and inspection activities are conducted and certified by competent and authorised individuals in accordance with approved standards, methods and practices.
- Lead the development of an Operations Business Plan and contribute to the development of a program business plan in line with the parameters provided to increase profitability and shareholder value.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum five years in a management/leadership role within a maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing environment. Aviation experience is desirable.
- Broad knowledge of and experience in management practices involved with heavily regulated working environments/industries.
- Demonstrated financial management experience in a senior role with an engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing enterprise.
- Ability to lead, communicate, organise and administer teams of multi-skilled personnel.
- Exceptional organisational, planning and change management skills.
- Broad knowledge of and experience in logistics and material management practices
- Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

**DESIRABLE**:

- Professional engineering qualification BEng (Mechanical) or equivalent
- Postgraduate/tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Management or Logistics from an accredited university or equivalent institution, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Lean/6 Sigma or equivalent Continuous Improvement training
