Go far with IOR
IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven't heard of… yet.
From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we've been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. You won't see our logo on racing cars. Instead, you'll be part of a team that helps fuel LifeFlight's choppers and supports communities around the nation – real work with real impact that's growing every day.
We're looking for an Aviation Maintenance Manager who's ready to lead with precision and purpose. In this role, you'll oversee operations, guide technical teams, and ensure our infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and mission ready. From remote diagnostics to hands-on coordination, you'll be part of a team that thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering real impact. If you bring trade expertise, sharp attention to detail, and a passion for aviation safety—this is your opportunity to keep Australia flying.
Your opportunity
As our Aviation Maintenance Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the safety and reliability of our facilities operations ensuring maintenance issues are resolved swiftly, thoroughly, and in line with aviation standards. You'll lead a skilled team of technicians, provide expert guidance, and keep our assets airworthy across diverse locations. With your technical expertise, sharp coordination skills, and unwavering commitment to safety.
You'll make an impact by:
- Lead fault identification and resolution across fuel infrastructure, ensuring timely response in line with SLAs and safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain remote fuel facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety compliance, and system reliability.
- Manage a small team handling scheduled maintenance and fault inquiries, while supporting 24/7 fault hotline coverage and escalation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and stay current with industry standards and best practices.
- Prepare fault trend reports, document maintenance procedures, and track operational performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
You bring a meticulous eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and a passion for elevating aviation standards. With hands-on experience in fault management, team leadership, and maintenance coordination, you thrive in high-pressure environments where safety and reliability are paramount. Your commitment to compliance, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving ensures our operations run with precision and purpose.
To succeed in this role, you'll also need:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, or operations management—or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proven leadership in maintenance or field services, ideally within fuel, aviation, or energy sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of fuel storage systems, pumps, valves, and aviation safety and compliance standards.
- Skilled in fault management systems, remote monitoring tools, and working across multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and a willingness to support after-hours emergency response as needed.
Why join IOR?
Approaching each day through our values of Innovation finding solutions, Our Communities serving people, and Reliability getting results, our team is focused on delivering what really matters to our customers.
