About Us
Enterprise Technology provides IT services and technology for DoT delivering Corporate and enterprise-wide capabilities. It performs a central role providing core IT systems, Cyber and IT Security leadership, and documenting strategic directions for all of DoT's Information technology and data.

About the Role
The role of the Portfolio Officer will provide support (capture and collate data, administration and secretariat support services) for the development and operation of the required frameworks, resources and processes, to enable portfolio financial management, effective administration and delivery of the Department's IT roadmap.

POSITION OUTCOMES
- Benefits Management Framework - capture and collate data from business area PMOs to populate detailed and summary reports to DoT leadership highlighting DoT IT portfolio actual versus forecast project benefits.
- Investment Management and Prioritisation Framework - capture and collate data from business area PMOs to populate detailed and summary reports to DoT leadership that prioritise, and shortlist potential unfunded technology initiatives and projects identified in development of DoT's prevailing strategies and business plans.
- Resource Fulfilment Framework - capture and collate data as required to populate detailed and summary reports to DoT leadership for the sourcing and supply of resources required to meet business demand to deliver the DoT IT portfolio, and to identify and support resolution of competing resource demands.
- Financial Management Support - support the Performance Analyst in the provision of financial management (tracking of costs, recoveries, reporting) to portfolio initiatives, programmes, and projects.
- Administration and Secretariat Support - provide general administration and secretariat support to the portfolio management team and portfolio governing bodies.
- Effective Reporting - research and analysis activities to support the development of reports and graphical presentations for DoT leadership, and external government departments and agencies, to inform strategic decision making and provide insights in support of business led project governance of the DoT IT portfolio.
- Governance - provide support to IT and business managers, together with project and program delivery teams, to facilitate sound project governance.

Key Selection Criteria
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Provide support to enable high quality analysis and evaluation of financial and operational performance to inform management decisions, and to underpin effective budget formulation, forecasting and projections: Contributes to the strategic planning and budget formulation cycle, budget forecasting and technical. Supports financial and operational data analysis through extraction, filtering, and collation from specified information sources.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate; Offers suggestions and ideas, encourages others to do the same; Leverage on existing continuous improvement systems and procedures to improve outcomes, quality & efficiency of work; Creates space for learning and innovation by seeking for input and feedback from others.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
- Relevant experience in a high value portfolio office in a large complex corporate or government environment
- Basic understanding of financial management

Desirable
- Bachelor's degree or higher in information management, technology, business, commerce or similar
- Relevant experience working with ICT frameworks
