**The Role**
The roles in the Ministerial, Parliamentary and Cabinet Branch, sit at the intersection of Defence’s work and Parliament, allowing you to work across the breadth of Defence portfolio priorities. You will guide the work of Defence in its engagement with Parliament, Defence Ministers and the Cabinet.

Several positions are with roles covering:

- Liaison with Defence portfolio minister offices and Defence Groups and Services facilitating timely, high quality ministerial and parliamentary products.
- Management and coordination of internal business and ministerial and parliamentary workflow (including Ministerial brief requests, Question Time briefs, Questions on Notice and other parliamentary products tasked through the Parliamentary Document Management System).
- Support for the smooth administrative operations of Ministerial Offices.
- Development and sustainment of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

With support from your leadership, you will learn to navigate risk and complex issues in a role that allows rare perspective of political and organisational decision-making.

**About our Team**
The Ministerial, Parliamentary and Cabinet Branch directly supports Defence’s portfolio Ministers, and the Defence enterprise in engagements with Parliament and the Cabinet. We coordinate and drive strategic outcomes in line with executive and Ministerial priorities.

The branch has five teams:

- Ministerial and PDMS Services: ensures Defence portfolio Ministers receive timely, consistent and high-quality information.
- Parliamentary Business and Committees: coordinates Defence’s involvement in Parliamentary Committees and Inquiries, and provides administrative support for Question Time Briefs.
- Ministerial Support: provides administrative and logístical support to Defence portfolio Ministers and their staff.
- Senate Estimates and Executive Support Unit: coordinates Defence’s engagement with Senate Estimates, and supports Defence’s leaders and representing Minister in ensuring the Department demonstrates the highest standards of excellence, accountability and transparency.
- Cabinet Liaison Services: facilitates advice to Cabinet and Secretary-level meetings through carefully consulted, well-drafted, responsive Cabinet Submissions and associated products.
