**The Role**
The Configuration Officer APS 6 is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex technical configuration work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The Configuration Officer may be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.

The Configuration Officer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**About our Team**
The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) represents one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting edge technology and capabilities. As Australia’s largest shipbuilding project, HCF represents the cornerstone of Australian Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. We work with experts from the UK, the USA, Canada and Europe to solve highly complex challenges in construction at the newly designed Osborne Naval Shipyard, utilising the latest production technologies, including robotic welding.

The design and acquisition strategy currently employed by the HCF Project is new to the Department of Defence and progresses upon the traditional systems engineering approach to design, acquisition and project management. To optimise the technology, the shipbuilding industry is growing and training a workforce to meet the challenges. Contributing to the HCF Project will encourage you to be cooperative, collegiate, innovative and decisive through building key stakeholder collaborative relationships.
