**Your new role**

Policy is your wheelhouse, and you are passionate about it. Working on the development of operational policy will be a key responsibility along with drafting robust policy advice that supports the strategic objective. As an EL1 in the area, upskilling, coaching and mentoring of staff will be necessary and a day in the life of your new position will see you:

- Identifying Policy issues and engaging with a range of stakeholders to implement policies and programs
- Drafting correspondence and documentation
- Researching and Analysing a range of information to identify policy solutions

As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, well-developed communication skills with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Having experience in a similar policy position will put you in a good position for this role. You will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, the ability to undertake tasks independently, the ability to develop an understanding of key issues with the ability to strategically think, the ability to provide leadership and the ability to communicate clear, concise and to a high standard.
