Records Officer

**About the company**

You will be working for a Local Government authority in the south-eastern suburbs. This is a great opportunity to work with an excellent council giving you the chance to broaden your local government experience and knowledge. The organisation take pride in looking after their staff’s well-being.

This is a full-time opportunity, and you will be given the opportunity to work hybrid.

**Your key responsibilities include**
- Coordination of mail received and collected
- Receipt and dispatch all incoming goods as they arrive to appropriate personnel
- Sorting and opening of mail
- Inbox management
- Providing customer service to internal stakeholders
- Register, process, and scan correspondence into the electronic document management system
- Contribute to the development and implement improved work procedures and practices
- Ad-hoc administration as required

**You will have the following**
- Local government experience, especially Building and Statutory Planning correspondence is highly desirable
- Experience in a mailroom or records role
- Either qualifications in Information Management or have proven experience within the field
- PDF manipulation
- Be process driven and maintain strong accuracy
- Proficiency with the MS Suite
- A positive and proactive attitude towards work
- The ability to manage multiple tasks each with competing deadlines
