My client are a market leading food manufacturing company who are looking for a positive, resilient and ambitious purchasing officer to grow and progress within their company.

**The Role**:

- Develop material purchasing forecasts based on production requirements of the business;
- Identify and source new/alternate suppliers to ensure the effective procurement of materials;
- Reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated demand plan or material yard.
- Manage supplier relations to obtain favorable supplier terms/price negotiations and decrease lead times;
- Create Purchase Orders in a timely and efficient manner using the MRP software and the demand plan for finished goods.

**You will need**:

- Bachelor degree in engineering, accounting, business, commerce, supply chain or other relevant fields
- Experience working in a similar role in a fast-paced environment, previous purchasing experience in an FMCG business strongly preferred
- Working with fresh produce or short shelf life items favored
- Sound understanding of procurement and purchasing principles
- Positive, resilient and ambitious
