A leading government department responsible for providing a wide range of services to customers across Queensland is currently recruiting for a Principal Finance Policy Officer. Following a significant department restructure, all the internal finance policies need to be reviewed and updated. Due to team time constraints and reporting pressures, this is an ideal opportunity for you to join a well-known department where you will not be dealing with end of month reporting deadlines.

**The Position**:
**This policy driven role will require you to**:
Take a lead role in liaising with Queensland Treasury on financial policy issues
Engage with multiple stakeholders to ensure best practice polciy and procures are in place
Engage with key stakeholders on best practice policies Your Profile:
To truly thrive in this role, you should be able to understand and interpret accounting standards with experience developing strong policies in accordance with those standards. You will need strong writing skills and excellent stakeholder engagement skills as you will be communicating with a range of internal stakeholders. As this is a hands-on role, you should be comfortable taking ownership of this project as you will not be delegating key functions to other staff.

**It will be helpful if you have experience in the following**:
Government experience (albeit not required) or
Strong audit background with exposure to accounting standards
Commercial experience where you have developed internal policies To Apply:
