Government agency looking for a Principal Project Officer to assist with their capital works projects.

**Your new company**
Our client is a business unit within the Queensland Government who work across a range of new build, maintenance, and capital works projects across the state in the education sector. Due to a peak in workload and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to add a Principal Project Officer their department to assist with the planning and delivery of several education projects.

**Your new role**
As the Principal Project Officer, you will be responsible overseeing the departments portfolio and conducting reporting for infrastructure planning projects on behalf of the team. You will implement quality frameworks to identify improvement opportunities in project practises, procedures, processes, technologies, and strategies to help achieve the department's project objectives. Additionally, you will complete regular project reporting and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrated previous experience in project portfolio reporting for capital works projects. Therefore, you will ideally come from a background in project management, program management, architecture, or town planning, with a relevant discipline in these fields. You will be able to identify strategic initiatives to achieve successful project outcomes within an infrastructure delivery environment or similar. Given this role involves regular project reporting, sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Experience with education building projects would be beneficial.

**What you'll get in return**
You will be offered an immediate start with an initial 12-month contract with the potential for extension within a government agency based in Brisbane CBD. You will be offered a full-time temporary position banding an A07 rate + super. You will also have the potential opportunity to work from home.
