**Principle Financial Officer - A07**
This state government department aims to ensure inclusive and safeguarded services to some of our most vulnerable within our community.
In this role, you will be providing support to the Deputy Director-General and Department Leaders for the delivery of a range of policies, process documentation and business support activities.
You will lead the financial accounting functions, providing analysis and advice in relation to issues impacting on the development and management of reporting and budgets. You will also develop, implement and maintain financial systems and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved financial management, and analyse and advise on business unit financial and budgetary performance.
This exciting role is for an agile, ambitious, flexible and skilled Finance Officer with an eye for detail.
As an experienced Finance Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the provision of comprehensive financial reports for Leaders of the division including budget forecasting, variance reporting, expenditure reconciliations and review of budget expenditure
- Establishing and maintaining systems and processes including reconciliations of financial data to ensure corporate systems and reports are accurate, consistent and complete, and adequately supported for audit purposes.
- Provision of advice to staff of all levels on financial regarding operational issues as well as in relation to preparation of highly sensitive and confidential briefs, memos, submissions and ministerial and executive correspondence.
You need to be confident and articulate, with strong communication, organisation and performance skills. We would also like you to be a warm and friendly with the ability to lead strategically and build enduring relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, a tertiary degree in Commerce, Business or Accounting will be favourably regarded.
