About This Position
- An opportunity has become available for an experienced _**_Sales Manager (responsible for Australia National Sales)_**_ to join our Client - _**_a subsidiary of a global Switch Gear manufacturer._**
- Our Client is seeking for an experienced and responsible _**_National Sales Manager_**_, who can start immediately to take lead for their Sales team. A valuable opportunity for those who are looking for new challenges in the engineering world and to take on the next step to grow and manage a team._
- The National Sales Manager role is a _**_Full-time position with a package of up to 150K(inc super and car allowance). _**_Responsible at core to ensure the retention of existing client relationships and to strategically identify new business opportunity. The role is also responsible for supporting and managing the Sales team to achieve sales budget. _
- You will work closely with the Finance and Administration Manager and the Engineering Department in the preparation and submission of tenders, contract administration and contact with agents._
What does your next role look like?
- _Responsible for setting and achieving the sales budget of the company._
- _To control selling prices and marginal profit through a pricing strategy agreed with Managing Director._
- _To manage the Sales team to achieve the sales budget of the company._
- _Carry out market research and investigation in formulation of marketing and business development plans._
- _Set performance targets and monitor the performance and the progress of each sales staff._
- _Responsible for meeting customers’ needs in particular and ensuring all customers are being adequately serviced by the respective sales staff and technical engineers._
- If necessary to achieve this responsibility, Sales manager needs to provide his leadership not only within sales department, but across the company to create best response/resolution as company._
- _Undertake regular interstate travel to attend to customer enquiries, and provide technical advice to customers/develop new business in the assigned territory._
- _Maintain awareness of market conditions with particular reference to customers’ needs, sales agents’ effectiveness, competitors’ activities and market trends._
- _Keep the Managing Director fully informed of market development and sales prospects.This could be by written report, telephone or personal contact._
- _Work closely with the Engineering Manager/Department to ensure customers receive superior technical advice and support._
- _Initiate, prepare and participate in the sales promotion._
- _Initiate to prepare and improve the sales support tools, such as, but not limited to, website, catalogue and technical support documents._
- _Search and follow up of customer requirements/ enquiries on price and engineering issues._
- _Recording of inquiry or tender and order processing._
- _Preparation, submission and negotiation of tenders and quotations in accordance with customer requirements to ensure the maximum likelihood of success._
- _Liaison with all agents and customers to provide delivery and/or technical information and to ensure that their quality and delivery requirements are being met._
- _Incur operational expenses within the agreed budget._
- **_Ensures that the company Environmental Management System (EMS) Policy is followed & as directed by the management committee._**:
- _Ensures that the two way communication on EMS matters is maintained with our customers_
A little about you
**_ Formal Education: (Minimum education requirement to perform job competently) _**
- _Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma (preferred but not essential)_
**_ Training: (What specific training is necessary?)_**
- **_Strong business acumen with a good understanding of financial reports, budgets and sales forecasts_**:
- _Possess technical knowledge and understanding of electrical/ power industry._
- _OHSE Awareness._
- _ISO 9001, 45001 & ISO 14001_
- **_Understanding of Government/Regulation_**_ on all operational and relevant issues related to regulatory compliance_
**_ Work Experience:_**
- _Demonstrated extensive sales knowledge of electrical/power industry (preferred)_
- _Previous experience in an engineering role (preferred)_
- _A proven track record in high achievement in sales and sales targets_
**_ People Management Skills: (Skills in leading, developing and controlling staff)_**
- _Outstanding communication and negations skills and ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external customers and personnel_
- _Previous experience in staff leadership, supervision and management_
**_ Other Skills, Job Requirements or Special Attributes Required:_**
- _Demonstrated high levels of presentation skills_
