**Position**:Casual Medical Receptionist - 9-week Temporary Contract (with potential for

continuance in 2025)

**Location**: Caloundra, Sunshine Coast

**Employment Status**:Casual - Medical Receptionist (Direct report to Practice Manager)

Hours: 12-16 hours per week (mid October - mid December, 2024)

**Role Requirements**:

- Communication:_
- Experience with Genie or Gentu preferred but not essential.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient care and all aspects of the practice.
- Greet patients and other callers courteously and efficiently.
- Keep patients informed of any delays.
- Interact courteously and helpfully with referring doctors and hospital staff.
- Answer the telephone promptly and courteously.
- Record messages and ensure they are attended to and brought to the relevant person’s

attention.
- Make outgoing phone calls as requested.
- Manage daily correspondence.
- Appointments:_
- Arrange appointments for patients following set booking procedures.
- Check off patients’ names on arrival.
- Update information on medical records and in computer files.
- Obtain appropriate details from new patients to maintain the patient database.
- Gather medical records and reports in readiness for consultations.
- Photocopy records for files.
- Finances:_
- Advise patients of the practice’s credit or billing policy.
- Issue in-person patient invoices and receipts.
- Other Duties:_
- Attend to routine cleaning and stocking requirements; ensure all furniture and

equipment are clean and tidy.
- Prepare examination rooms.
- Report accidents, injuries, and illnesses

**Job Types**: Casual, Contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 16 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
