Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a skilled clinician to work with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal individuals, providing recovery-focused services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy and review as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers and other stakeholders, while also possessing knowledge of Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions, including those related to Aboriginal people and their communities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, safe and connected care to consumers and their families in a person-centred, holistic manner that promotes self-determination within the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and strengths-based approach.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions, including those related to Aboriginal people and their communities.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification or relevant registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.
