About the Role
The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Workplace Learning Officer to join our team. This is a permanent part-time (0.5FTE) position commencing as soon as possible.

About the Position
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to make a positive impact on students' lives, supporting their career development and academic success. As a Workplace Learning Officer, you will work closely with our VET team to secure placements with existing and new workplace partners, conduct workplace visits, and provide guidance to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective Workplace Learning programs to support students' career goals and aspirations
- Conduct regular workplace visits to monitor student progress and provide feedback to employers and parents
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and industry partners to secure job placements and training opportunities
- Collaborate with teachers and VET staff to develop and deliver tailored learning programs that meet students' needs and interests
- Provide expert advice and support to students, parents, and employers on career pathways and vocational education options
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and experience in vocational education, careers counseling, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including students, parents, employers, and industry partners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse situations and contexts
- Sound knowledge of career development theories and practices, with a focus on promoting student employability and career readiness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and time management skills
- Familiarity with relevant software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing tools
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus a range of benefits that include:
- A salary range of AU$65,000 - AU$90,000 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience and qualifications
