Job Description
  • The Air Operations Operator is accountable for processing documents efficiently and promptly to ensure they are correct and properly entered into operational systems.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders including AQIS, Airlines, couriers, Customs Agents, clients, transport bodies, and Australian Customs as required.
  • Booking cargo with airlines.
  • Inspecting all dangerous goods documentation and cargo where applicable.
  • Ordering Dry Ice And Other Materials As Required.
  • Ordering/book other third parties as required.
  • Raising permits as necessary.
  • Acting as part of our Quality Assurance Systems with AQIS.
  • Quoting clients as necessary.
  • Raising invoices from quotations, and mailing to clients.
  • Processing creditor invoices and CASS.
  • Carrying out MSQA duties as approved.
  • Participating in the weekend work roster as required.
  • Promoting and enjoying a team environment with fellow employees.
  • Raising any discrepancies or disputes with the Air Freight Manager.
  • Maintaining up-to-date rate sheets and other information as needed.
  • Taking appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Recording internal and external complaints on QIRs.
  • Taking responsibility for Documenting Document Change Requests.
  • Being responsible for inspecting all freight received or dispatched to the consignee or shipper.
  • Confining all sourcing to Approved Suppliers, reviewing all purchase orders that may be documented, and liaising with the Quality Manager when new suppliers are being considered.
  • Completing a Skills Inventory, and ensuring all training received is recorded on a personal Training Inventory.
  • Dealing with clients and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
