Legal Professional Required

The Australian government is seeking a highly skilled and motivated legal professional to join their team. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex issues relating to mergers and exemptions law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-depth legal advice on complex matters related to mergers and exemptions law.
  • Conduct thorough research into complex issues relevant to the agency's responsibilities under relevant legislation.
  • Assist with the conduct of investigations and court proceedings for the agency.

As a legal professional, you will be working closely with a collaborative team to provide strategic and legal policy advice as well as other legal services at an agency that helps protect everyday consumers.

Requirements:
  • Admission as a practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
  • Experience in providing effective legal advice and guidance in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience advising on Part IV of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 — particularly in respect of merger clearances and competition exemptions — would be advantageous but is not essential.
