About the Role

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and leadership for all Utilities Programs and Projects across Queensland, developing and implementing business plans to drive growth and achieve financial targets. They will foster a high-performance culture, promoting teamwork and professional development among their team members.

In this critical role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, and water treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. You will also optimize operational efficiency and resource utilization, leading the planning, execution, and completion of utility projects in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all Utilities Programs and Projects across Queensland.
    • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and achieve financial targets in the region.
    • Foster a high-performance culture, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, and water treatment facilities.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
    • Optimise operational efficiency and resource utilisation.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of utility projects in Queensland.
    • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Address client needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Represent UGL at industry events and forums.
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability.
    • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
