
Project Manager: Health Planning and Evaluation

Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the role is to provide project management and support services, including preparation of reports, correspondence, evaluation frameworks, monitoring and reporting strategies, value stories, summaries, website updates and other collateral to inform key stakeholders and support achievement of outcomes and objectives.
This involves coordinating and supporting the planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of a diverse range of projects to inform decision making and demonstrate contribution towards outcomes and objectives. The role will also involve engagement of key stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities/Tasks:
- Coordinate and support development of the Plan Implementation Plan in alignment with key strategic documents including the Plan and Future Health and Performance Agreement.
- Coordinate and support implementation of divisional evaluations/value stories in conjunction with program managers and staff to demonstrate their contribution/value towards the Plan.
- Provide a range of project management and support services including preparation of reports, correspondence, evaluation frameworks, monitoring and reporting strategies, value stories, summaries, website updates and other collateral to inform key stakeholders and support achievement of outcomes and objectives.
- Provide planning and evaluation advice and share learnings across the organisation to ensure alignment in processes and documentation wherever appropriate.
- Provide administrative and Secretariat support including for key governance groups such as the Plan Steering Committee.
Key Challenges:
- Ensuring planning and evaluation activities are aligned with the expected outcomes of the Plan.
- Delivering multiple project initiatives and outcomes within tight time frames given the need to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Contributing towards a strong planning and evaluation culture.
- Understanding the complexity of programs in the broader context to deliver high quality evaluations.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrated relevant professional experience in health program planning and evaluation, developing or supporting the development of documents such as strategic, operational or program plans, Program Logics and program monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications in Public Health or in a related discipline or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports, correspondence, briefing papers and capacity to write evaluation reports.
- Strong analytical, evaluation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High level oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of the health system.
