About the Role
The Agency are currently recruiting for a Research and Evaluation Officer (APS5) to join our team on a Full-time ongoing position. Reporting to the Senior Evaluation Officer (Research, Evaluation & Statistics SN), the Research & Evaluation Officer contributes to the design, development, and implementation of methodologies that accurately reflect user attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours, while also evaluating the impact of the digital health ecosystem.
This role is accountable for:
- Manage impact evaluation projects in a timely, accurate, and collaborative manner to support the Agency's strategic objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement research and evaluation methodologies using online quantitative and qualitative techniques, as well as in-person and in-situ studies conducted through the Agency's Experience Centre.
- Support the Senior Evaluation Officer (Research, Evaluation & Statistics SN) in promoting evaluation practices and performance monitoring across the Agency.
This role involves moderately complex to complex work performed under limited direction, with accountability for managing workflow and making independent decisions within a defined area of responsibility. The Research & Evaluation Officer provides policy advice informed by relevant legislation and may conduct specialist research, analysis, investigations, and operational support tasks. The position often involves public engagement, requiring clear communication and professional advice to a diverse range of stakeholders. Additionally, the role may include supervising junior staff, managing performance, allocating tasks, and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health, research, or analytics discipline with associated experience.
- You will have exposure to research and evaluation design, development and implementation for policy reform.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management to achieve project or operational objectives, with the ability to anticipate stakeholders' needs and expectations.
- Clear verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
- Capable of working independently, with minimal guidance, while adhering to established priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver high-quality results.

Eligibility
- Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.
- Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
- Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
