About the Role

The National Indigenous Australians Agency is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Grants Management Unit as an Agreement Manager/Senior Agreement Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality grants management services to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage grant agreements with varying levels of complexity and sensitivity, identifying potential risks and developing creative solutions to address them.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders, including service delivery providers and program areas, to ensure successful grant implementation and outcomes.
  • Assess and resolve complex and sensitive issues that impact programs or grant agreements, demonstrating sound judgement and professionalism.
  • Supervise staff, develop staff, and build team capacity through coaching, performance feedback, and encouraging career development.
  • Support the EL1 GMU Team Leader in overseeing and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of a team to deliver high-quality services and grants implementation.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of grant agreement management, the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, and financial delegations.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, demonstrating cultural competency and a willingness to continue developing this skill.
  • High-level analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging opportunities or issues and respond quickly to competing priorities.
  • Flexibility and good judgement, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
