Job Description



Key Responsibilities for a Grants Officer include:

  • Oversee financial management of grant funds for assigned researchers, including budgeting, invoicing, expense adjustments, and monitoring to ensure compliance with funding agreements.
  • Prepare financial statements as required by funding bodies and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure timely submission of scientific reports to funding organisations.
  • Liaise internally with HR to co-ordinate staff appointments as needed.
  • Liaise with Finance Officers and the Finance Manager to adhere to internal procedures.
  • Serve as the main contact between grantees and funding organisations.
  • Facilitate the establishment of research agreements, including negotiation with external partners and funding bodies.
  • Provide information and recommendations on potential grant funding opportunities & sources.
  • Liaise internally with researchers and funding agencies throughout entire grant process.
  • Provide support and advice to researchers on grant submissions.



The Successful Applicant

The successful Grants Officer for this role must:

  • Possess direct experience in full, end-to-end grant processing. Experience in hospitals, Non for Profit or medical research industry is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Outstanding organisation skills, with an ability to effectively manage time, multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Distinct ability to work autonomously on a range of different tasks, whilst also being a team player that can contribute high quality insights to the broader organisation.
  • Expert competence in the use of Microsoft Office and Excel systems.
