About the Role

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the NSW Grants Management Unit. As a key leadership position, the Director will be responsible for the supervision and development of a large team, spread across locations throughout NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of grant management professionals to ensure effective and consistent agreement management.
  • Assess and manage risk across wide-ranging activities, ensuring grant agreements comply with statutory requirements, regulatory frameworks, and NIAA policy.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual issues are appropriately addressed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve grant management processes and outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice on grant management and administration to staff and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in grant management and administration, with a strong understanding of financial statements and online data management systems.
  • Ability to manage a large team and ensure agreement management and administration activities comply with relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
  • Demonstrated high-level analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, including a solid understanding of financial statements.
  • Ability to engage effectively and proactively with internal and external stakeholders regarding the management of agreements.
  • Ability to provide strategic and technical advice to guide risk assessment and integrity across agreements.
