Curriculum Leader - Science | Brisbane Inner South

SchoolHouse is partnering with an independent secondary school for girls in Brisbane's inner south to find a highly skilled Curriculum Leader for their Science department. The school offers a high-quality education for young women, with a teaching program designed to prepare students for the challenges of a dynamic and ever-changing world. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Science curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's educational goals and standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons, assessments, and reporting.
  • Manage the Science budget, resources, and staff mentorship, ensuring the department runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with teachers, staff, and students to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of teachers, with a strong track record of staff development and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and pedagogy, with the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve student outcomes and department performance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor of Education, etc.) and a current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
