Job Overview

The primary focus of this role is to respond to reports about children or young people who may have been harmed or where there are safety concerns. This includes working with parents, family members, children or young people and collaborating with other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.

Caseworkers work sensitively and respectfully with clients and their families, managing cases and situations, including working with high needs and high risk clients. They participate in individual and group supervision and engage in complex problem solving.

Caseworkers are also involved in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court hearings. This role requires a commitment to working collaboratively with children, families and communities, including Aboriginal and diverse cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reports of child harm or safety concerns
  • Develop and implement safety plans with clients and other agencies
  • Manage high needs and high risk cases
  • Participate in individual and group supervision
  • Engage in complex problem solving
  • Prepare and attend court hearings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or Welfare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Australian driver's licence and willingness to drive
  • Working with children clearance number or willingness to obtain one
