About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Lead Practitioner. As a key member of our OOHC (Out-of-Home Care) team, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and guidance to your colleagues. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the highest standard of care for children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and support to carers and birth parents to create a safe and supportive environment for the children and young people in our care.
- Supervise and lead a team of established practitioners to ensure best practice in child welfare.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the well-being and safety of children and young people.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A qualification in Social Work, Psychology or another relevant discipline.
- Proven experience leading a small team of professionals.
- Child and family case management experience, preferably in OOHC.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with disadvantaged children, young people and families.
- Experience working with families affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, mental health, AOD, D&FV and homelessness.
- An understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
This is an immediate start opportunity based in Sydney. You will earn a competitive hourly rate, plus superannuation and other benefits. A successful Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Federal Police check are required prior to starting in this role.
