Child Wellbeing Co-ordinator

The role of Child Wellbeing Co-ordinator plays a pivotal part in safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of children within our healthcare services.

This critical position involves leading, developing and managing systems to support Local Health District (LHD) services in fulfilling their responsibilities regarding child safety, welfare and wellbeing concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop and implement educational programs for staff aimed at enhancing their capacity to identify and respond effectively to vulnerable children and families.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and services prioritising child safety and wellbeing.
  • Providing specialist consultation to staff on trauma-informed service delivery models and best practices for clients who have experienced trauma.
Essential Requirements:
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Counselling.
  • Demonstrated expertise in domestic violence, sexual assault and child protection principles and practices.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating training programs, focusing on quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
