Perth, Western Australia Ruah Community Services Full time
About the Role

Ruah Community Services is proud to be developing the Karlup Service, a holistic, wraparound recovery-based model aimed at supporting women and children to heal from family and domestic violence.

The Karlup Service will provide a range of offerings from the Ruah Centre for Women and Children, a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility.

The Karlup Service Children's Counselling Offering recognizes that the health and wellbeing of children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence is significantly impacted.

Children and young people growing up in homes where there is FDV are more vulnerable to other forms of abuse such as neglect, sexual abuse, and physical abuse.

They are also more likely to be perpetrators or victims of FDV in adulthood.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Counsellor (Children) will create safety for the child or young person by building trust and providing a safe place to explore their experiences and express their emotions.

The Counsellor (Children) will support children and young people to address behaviours and beliefs that may indicate they are vulnerable to becoming victims or perpetrators of family and domestic violence in the future.

We are seeking someone to fulfill this role on a part-time 0.6 FTE basis.
