About the Role

Centrecare is seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our team in a Problem Gambling Specialist role. As a Counsellor, you will work with individuals, couples, and families affected by problem gambling, providing a supportive environment to discuss the impact of gambling on their lives and strategies to manage the behavior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or group sessions to individuals, couples, and families affected by problem gambling.
  • Offer a supportive environment to discuss the impact of gambling on their lives and strategies to manage the behavior.
  • Work autonomously with strong professional boundaries.
  • Network, negotiate, and liaise with external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
  • Assess and develop treatment plans for individuals and families affected by problem gambling.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or other related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in intake and assessment.
  • Knowledge and experience in brief intervention counselling and treatments of addiction.
  • Ability to work with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Possession of a current driver's license and own vehicle.
