The Role

This role reports directly to the Global Payroll Manager and is responsible for providing key support in the end-to-end payroll function. The Payroll Specialist will ensure the accurate, streamlined, and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and processing fortnightly, monthly, and off-cycle payroll for all Megaport employees.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and lodge superannuation and retirement funds, ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation.
  • Review payroll tax and lodge returns.
  • Manage Workcover lodgements in each state.
  • Assist with auditor requests globally.
  • Prepare financial year-end paperwork.
  • Address internal and external payroll queries, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain and manage employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Work with the payroll manager to ensure payroll compliance in all registered states and countries.
  • Interpret awards, employment agreements, and individual contracts for all markets.
  • Provide guidance on systems, including Deputy, Trinet, ADP, and other internal tools.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in global payroll in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Reliability and trustworthiness, with a strong understanding of confidentiality in this sensitive role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude to learn new software and applications.
  • Ability to execute processes with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
