The Role

This Payroll Specialist role reports to the Global Payroll Manager and is responsible for providing key support in the end-to-end payroll function. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, streamlined, and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and processing of fortnightly, monthly, and off-cycle payroll for all Megaport employees.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and lodge superannuation and retirement funds ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation.
  • Review payroll tax and lodge returns.
  • Assist with the management of Workcover lodgements in each state.
  • Support Auditors' requests globally.
  • Contribute to financial year-end paperwork preparation.
  • Manage internal and external payroll queries, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain and manage employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Work closely with the payroll manager to ensure payroll compliance in all registered states and countries.
  • Interpret and understand awards, employment agreements, and individual contracts for all markets.
  • Provide systems guidance on Deputy, Trinet, ADP, and other internal payroll and rostering tools.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in global payroll in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Reliability and trustworthiness, with a strong understanding of confidentiality in this sensitive role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic environment; intellectually curious and excited about learning new things.
  • Aptitude to learn and understand new software and applications.
  • Ability to execute processes and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using ADP and Trinet payroll systems would be an advantage.
