Job Title: Education and Compliance Manager

The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Education and Compliance Manager in the Teacher Engagement and Registration branch.

This fixed-term, full-time position will involve partnering with regulated entities and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and reporting on program data and key strategic and operational issues, as well as developing proportionate and risk-based operational solutions in line with VIT's Regulatory Approach.

The Education and Compliance Manager will provide leadership, direction, and support to staff implementing operational policy and support functions for new and existing regulation. This includes designing and coordinating the delivery of education programs to key external stakeholders around teacher registration obligations, including the obligations under the Code of Conduct.

The role also involves designing and implementing risk-based compliance monitoring programs to ensure compliance with registration obligations, as well as effectively partnering with regulated entities and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational outcomes.

The successful candidate will be required to collect and report on program data and key strategic and operational issues, develop proportionate and risk-based operational solutions in line with VIT's Regulatory Approach, coordinate and/or provide specialist advice on the development of key policies and procedures within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch, demonstrate accountability for the achievement of team objectives, mentor staff and build team capacity through coaching and development, and undertake other duties as directed by Director Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch.

Key selection criteria include strong knowledge of risk-based regulatory practices and processes, particularly as they relate to compliance monitoring, compliance based investigations, and assisting stakeholders to comply. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including building a shared sense of direction, clarifying priorities, identifying and responding proactively to strategic issues, are also essential.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent organisational awareness and an ability to translate this into effective risk management practices across a team, as well as strong capacity in written, verbal, and presentation skills. The ability to present complex and complicated information for a range of internal and external stakeholders is also critical.
