The Director, People and Culture is a pivotal leadership role shaping the future of an organization. This position leads the creation of a modern people and culture function aligned to the strategic objectives of the organization.

The role works closely with the organization to deliver a comprehensive people and culture function comprising operational human resources activities, occupational health and safety, industrial/employee relations, performance and learning/professional development, workforce planning, payroll, and organizational transformation and change.

The Director, People and Culture is responsible for the maintenance, development, and implementation of the organization's people and culture policies, processes, and practices.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and deliver progressive people strategies that enable performance, foster innovation, and strengthen engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Build a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace culture where employees can thrive and contribute their best.
  • Lead cultural and operational transformation that unlocks the full potential of the workforce, positioning the organization as an employer of choice in a competitive sector.
  • Oversee the delivery of operational and strategic people and culture activities including strategic human resource management, end-to-end recruitment, industrial relations, performance and professional development, workforce planning, employee wellbeing, attraction and retention, OH&S payroll, accommodation and facilities management, and organizational transformation and change activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of organizational behavior and change management.
