About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring best practice standards are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide practical, hands-on health and safety support across various projects.
  • Coordinate and organise basic courses for frontline delivery teams and management.
  • Collect, verify, collate and present statistics to identify trends in performance.
  • Develop and deliver pre-start, toolbox talks, and health and safety training.
  • Deliver and support training and other HSE initiatives to facilitate consistent standards and share best practice.
  • Provide coaching on HSE Management System (SMS) and contractual requirements.
  • Complete incident investigation reports as per the SR Event Management and Reporting guidelines.
  • Identify and implement health and safety improvement initiatives at a project level.
  • Ensure robust reports are submitted into IMPACT for accurate statistical reporting.
  • Coordinate and conduct basic health and safety inspections.
  • Assist with risk management tool development, including Prestart briefing/JHA, SWMS, PRA.
  • Implement HSEMS, legislative, and client contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and conduct regular health and safety governance checks within project sites.
About You
  • Certificate IV OHS or working towards Graduate Certificate, Diploma OHS, Certificate in Risk Management.
  • Familiarity with high-risk activities in construction and environmental risk management.
  • Able to read, understand, and interpret the Health and Safety management system.
  • Plan and carry out safety inspections, coordinate and deliver health and safety training.
  • Assist in identifying significant factors affecting project design and help with design risk assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook.
Experience
  • Proven experience working in high-risk construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching frontline delivery teams and management with HS issues and resolution.
  • Proactive management of site-based hazards and risks.
