The Governance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the mental health and wellbeing division's governance framework, ensuring it is aligned with the department's strategic objectives. This will involve embedding enabling governance systems and processes, monitoring decision-making, and managing key advisory functions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective governance frameworks to support mental health and wellbeing reforms
- Provide authoritative advice on governance and advisory mechanisms to support decision-making
- Lead a small team to coordinate and respond to emerging issues and risks related to governance and advisory functions
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program and policy areas within the division
- Work closely with the Manager of the Program Management function to streamline and coordinate interrelationships between workplans and decision-making processes
- Extensive experience in governance, policy, and advisory roles
- Proven ability to operate in accordance with delegated authority, consistent with departmental and government policies
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in coaching, developing, and managing teams
- Ability to identify emerging issues, risks, and trends impacting key business objectives and imperatives
- High-quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive research and investigations
