Maritime Security Officer – Port Protection Specialist

CertisciscP2 is seeking a skilled Maritime Security Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in gatehouse operations and CCTV monitoring.

Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for protecting the integrity and safety of maritime zones at a security-regulated port. You will work closely with other teams to ensure compliance with MTOFSA rules and regulations, as well as site traffic management plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will control access into maritime zones, both persons and vehicles, in accordance with MTOFSA.
  • You will sign contractors IN/OUT and verify their induction cards and MSICs.
  • You will check emails, administration, communications, and required reporting.
  • You will provide perimeter security by ensuring there is no unauthorized access to the site or vulnerabilities to the physical and electronic security integrity of the Site perimeter.
  • You will confirm that everyone issued a security access card to the site has completed the relevant induction and provided the appropriate approved access level.
  • You will surveil and monitor all entry gates, Site buildings and grounds, access control system, and visitor management system process.
  • You will respond to alarms generated by access systems, fire systems, building management control systems, CCTV systems, and any issues raised by staff or contractors.
  • You will monitor Exit Gate (Unauthorized Entry (vehicle/person), MSIC checks at Turnstiles and exit and entrance gates).
  • You will conduct regular patrols and Administration and Building Patrols, and Locking/unlocking (Doors/Gates).
  • You will provide daily communications diary, event logs, incident reports, breaches, foot patrol reports, readings, alarms, and any checks.
  • You will promptly identify and prevent illegal and/or inappropriate behavior, which has the potential to result in damage to property and or persons. You will report any such security risks to the client contact and supervisor.
  • You will respond to on-site medical, First Aid, and other emergencies as required.
  • You will perform on-site Emergency Siren and Fire Alarm testing.
  • You will conduct Gatehouse duties when required.
Qualifications
  • A Certificate II in Security Operations
  • State current and applicable Security license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Must hold a license to work as a security guard, being a license that was issued or recognized by the relevant State or Territory and that is in force.
  • Occupational First Aid
  • Current Valid driving license – as required
