We are seeking a highly skilled Port & Cargo Operations Manager to join our team in Port Kembla, NSW. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant port and cargo operations.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in shipping, logistics, and operations management to drive business growth and success. You will work closely with our trade operations, sales, and ship officers to ensure seamless operations and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all port and cargo operations activities for Wallenius Wilhelmsen-owned vessels in Port Kembla, prioritizing safety, compliance, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee cargo handling equipment, including stock control and reporting.
  • Ensure services are procured, planned, and ordered to meet agreed service levels, with follow-up as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure operations are safe, efficient, and compliant.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulatory affairs, particularly those related to biosecurity and AMSA, and share updates as needed.
Requirements:
  • Higher education in maritime or related fields (desired).
  • Operational experience in maritime, stevedoring, or port operations industry (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, IT capabilities, and ability to work independently.
  • Outgoing personality, positive mindset, and professional communication skills at all levels.
  • A valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$150,000, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical and police checks, to support your career growth and well-being.
