About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Direct Care Worker at the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, Kangaroo Island Health Service - Aged Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nurses in routine tasks with aged care residents living in the Carnarvon and Anchusa Nursing Homes on Kangaroo Island.
  • Perform a range of duties that require basic aged care skills, knowledge, training, and experience.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a physically and culturally safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities through recording and reporting data and reviewing established guidelines, protocols, procedures, standards, and systems of work.
Requirements
  • Enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing, or hold a Certificate III or IV in aged care or home and community care, or equivalent of 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing person-centred care and work well under limited direction within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Have a good understanding of aged care standards and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
