About the Role

The Engine Watchkeeper is a key position responsible for maintaining the operational capabilities of the ship's engine and mechanical equipment. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be part of a team that ensures the smooth operation of our transhipment vessel.

This role requires strong technical knowledge and skills, particularly in areas related to propulsion power management. As an experienced professional in this field, you will be able to effectively maintain and troubleshoot complex systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the engine and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs as required
  • Collaborating with other crew members to achieve team goals and objectives

In addition to your technical expertise, excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and other team members to ensure seamless operations and address any issues that may arise.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • 12 months of relevant experience in a related role, including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts;
  • Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) and other desirable certifications; and
  • Australian citizenship or unlimited Australian working rights.
