About the position CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Chief Engineer to join our transhipment vessel; Donnacona.
This vessel operates in Cape Preston, Western Australia and is a 24/7 operation for our customer: CITIC Pacific Mining.
Reporting to the Master, the Chief Engineer is the head of the Engine Department.Responsibilities The safe/efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard;Supervising all Engineering Officers, while adhering to budgets and purchasing procedures of the Company;Safeguarding the Overs' and Company's interest at all times;Assisting the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship's cargo equipment;Keeping the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship's trim, stress and/or stability.About you Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 ( required )Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer ( required )Certificate of Safety Training (STCW III/2) (desirable)Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working RightsLiving in AustraliaBe comfortable wearing a respiratorApplication Process If you are interested in any of these roles then we love to hear from you
